GGA Sponsors 10th Annual Bio-IT World Conference & Expo

      

Cambridge, MA – April 4, 2011 - GGA Software Services is pleased to announce sponsorship of Bio-IT World Conference & Expo ’11, which will be held at the World Trade Center in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 12 to 14, 2011.

Since its debut in 2002, the annual Bio-IT World Conference & Expo has established itself as a premier event showcasing the use of information technology and informatics for research, drug discovery, and clinical trials. The Expo provides one of the industry’s leading venues to share information and discuss enabling technologies that are driving biomedical research and the drug development process. The 2010 Expo drew a record number of participants, with over 1,700 life sciences, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and IT professionals in attendance. Increased attendance is expected for the 2011 Expo.

The 2011 program will feature presentations and panels from industry and academia on new trends in data generation, knowledge management, and information technology in life sciences and drug development. Best-practices case studies and joint partner presentations relevant to the technology, research, and regulatory issues of life science, pharmaceutical, and IT professionals will be showcased. New features will include tracks on cloud computing and next-generation sequencing informatics, as well as several pre-conference workshops on cheminformatics, diagnostics, and proteomics. In addition, more than 100 companies will exhibit their products and services at the Expo.

Yuriy Gankin, Ph.D., Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of GGA Software Services, will chair the Collaborative Drug Discovery Section of the Drug Discovery Informatics Track on Wednesday, April 12, beginning at 10:50 AM. This track will explore innovative methods, approaches, and technologies that pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations are utilizing for collaborative drug design, knowledge management, and translational medicine. In addition, Dr. Gankin will serve as a faculty member in a pre-conference workship that is titled “Current Methods for Computational Toxicology and Chemogenomics” and that will take place on Tuesday, April 12, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
